Rich Rygg

Life and Business Coach

About Me

I’m Richard Rygg, co-author of The Champion’s Way and a mindset coach committed to helping people transform the way they think, compete, and live. I had the privilege of working closely with legendary UNC soccer coach Anson Dorrance to distill his championship-winning philosophies into a practical, transformative framework that anyone—athlete or not—can use to unlock their full potential.

I believe excellence isn’t reserved for the lucky or the gifted—it’s built through values, discipline, and a focused mindset. My coaching is designed to help you identify what truly matters, set goals that align with your deepest beliefs, and build systems that turn your vision into reality.

My background combines engineering, an MBA, and graduate psychology studies—an uncommon blend that allows me to approach coaching with both structure and depth. I bring a systems-thinking mindset, business strategy expertise, and a deep understanding of human behavior and motivation into every session. This well-rounded foundation helps me deliver practical tools and powerful insights that create real, lasting change.

Whether you're stepping into a new phase of life or ready to elevate your current path, this work is for those who are done settling—who are ready to show up fully and do the deep, meaningful work of becoming who they were meant to be—to live a life of excellence and abundance.

If you’re seeking a breakthrough—something real, structured, and powerful—I’d love to work with you.

Over the years, I’ve led high-performing teams, developed transformative systems, collaborated with world-class thinkers, and brought bold ideas to life. I’ve worked at some of the most recognized companies in the world (IBM, HP, AOL, GeoCities, Yahoo!), launched startups, raised capital, guided teams through IPOs and acquisitions, and navigated both the wins and the setbacks that come with building something that matters.

I’ve also lived through deep personal challenges—divorce, loss, and rebuilding a life while raising three children as a single parent. These experiences taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of aligning action with values. They’ve deepened the way I coach: grounded, honest, and deeply committed to helping others succeed with meaning and integrity.
